40th Anniversary Blues Gala
Maggie Bell, Tim Elliot, Bernie Marsden, The Jensen Interceptors, Sandy Tweeddale, Mud In Your Ear, and more
To mark the Festival’s 40th Anniversary, some of our favourite Blues musicians have put together a special programme packed with little features, special one-offs, and unique moments. There’ll be blues from the delta, electric blues from Chicago, full on blues-rock, and most styles in between.
We’re delighted that two of Scotland’s all time blues greats, Maggie Bell and Tim Elliot, are heavily featured, and that an amazing line up also includes ex-Whitesnake guitar hero, Bernie Marsden. The leading musicians on the Scottish blues scene will be there, with Festival favourite, Gary Martin, leading The Jensen Interceptors; ex-Blues n’Trouble lead guitarist, Sandy Tweeddale, fronting a specially assembled all star band; and Ritchie O'Donnell's acoustic blues wizards, Mud In Your Ear, offering authentic acoustic, Mississipi rooted, blues. Top US harpist, Brandon Santini, will be making a special appearance, and who knows, there may be some spur of the moment surprises.
