Aka Moon: “Juggling with polyrhythms and polyphonies like mad DJ’s” (Jazz Magazine). This distinctive trio fuse jazz, rock, world music, and avant-garde. Their collective interplay is rhythmically complex, full of inventive and often ferocious improvisation moving from Balkans to Bach, from Cuba to Scarlatti to their collaborations with the famous Aka Pygmies.
Laura MacDonald’s History of Sax: Scotland’s top female jazz saxophonist showcases a new project tracing the history of jazz saxophone from Sonny Rollins to today. Laura’s passionate and lyrical alto saxophone pays homage to Joe Henderson, Michael Brecker, Kenny Garret, Bob Mintzer.
