The internal ambience of this fabulously atmospheric basement venue is modern, upbeat, and attractive, with natural stone walls, polished wood floor, cande-lit tables, comfy alcove seating, smart, unobtrusive lighting and designer furniture, enhanced by art and photography exhibitions. It’s often described as ‘A real New York vibe – right here in Edinburgh‘. And with a a capacity of 140, it’s a nice size, not too small, not too big.

Edinburgh is a cycle-friendly city. At peak times, cyclists can share the buses' green lanes and many junctions have advance cycle stop lines. Racks are available on Chambers Street to park your bike.
A number of buses go via the city centre and stop outside the museum on Chambers Street, or nearby on George IV Bridge and South Bridge. Single and day tickets are available. Lothian Buses’ family DAYticket allows two adults and up to three children unlimited travel together on day services. During the summer there is a special weekend bus, Service 9, which runs between the National Museum of Scotland and the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.
