Cross The Tracks is back!

Cutting edge, new music returns to Edinburgh for Cross The Tracks 2016.

Our long-standing alternative music night is taking over La Belle Angele this July and bringing with it the very best in new music as part of the Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival. Cross The Tracks traces the rich thread of jazz and blues music as it weaves through left-field contemporary genres – from hip-hop and electronica to soul and funk and afro-latin.

You can keep up to date with all the latest Cross The Tracks news ‘like’ their Facebook page.

Fronted by UK hip-hop legend Dr Syntax and verbal acrobat Sparkz, The Mouse Outfit, will bring their mix of hip hop with soul, jazz and reggae influence to the Festival for a not-to-be-missed gig on 19 July.

Jazz infused funk and hip-hop fuelled marching band music, Hot 8 Brass Band are returning to the Festival on 21 July with their bevvy of trombones, saxophones, trumpets, snare and bass drums and covering everything from Snoop Dogg to The Specials.

Inspired by Fela Kuti and Sun Ra, United Vibrations fuse afro-punk with jazz, 12Tone and mulatto and will be performing on 22 July.. There’ll also be music from The Italian Berlin-based Mop Mop as he brings his Sound System to Edinburgh as part of this unique music double whammy.

Edinburgh favourites Samedia Shebeen will also be bringing their cutting edge tropical electronica spanning old and new sounds from across the globe on 22 July and United Vibrations/MopMop Sound System ticket holders can even get in free!

And finally, returning to Cross The Tracks is the 14-piece instrumental collective who deliver a mighty fusion of jazz, rock, and folk with a line up of guitars, violins, keyboards, horns, bass, drums and percussion – it's  Fat-Suit. They’ll perform on 24 July with Werkha (live band) who's bring his infectious fusion of Afro-beat, bass, house, jazz, funk and soul.
