Join The Carnival and dress to impress on Saturday 23rd June 15 Jun 2018
If you’ve ever wanted to try on a Carnival costume learn samba dancing, then the Edinburgh Festival Carnival invites you to join us at Out of the Blue Drill Hall on Saturday 23rd June between 4 and 7pm.
Carnivals are all about dressing up and we invite you to dress to impress with some extravagant Carnival costumes: headdresses, headpieces, wings, feathers and sequins. Costumes come in all sizes and can be worn over t-shirts.
Samba is the heartbeat of celebration, street parties, dance, and fun and on the day you’ll have the chance to learn some basic dance steps, from samba rolls to Bota Fogos, or to hit some samba drums.
You will then be invited to join the first ever Carnival bloco (a street band with costume wearing followers) - which will join the Edinburgh Festival Carnival (15th July) and Festival 2018: Glasgow Carnival Procession (4th August).
This taste of Brazil is suitable for all ages and we’d like you to spread the word too.
