Brian Kellock & David Blenkhorn
We're working on it! Meanwhile, check out the upcoming Scottish Jazz Weekend programme here!
David Blenkhorn is unwell, and will be replaced in Brian Kellock’s Trio by Nigel Clark
We’re sorry to hear that that David Blenkhorn has had a heart attack. He’s fine, but recuperating and unable to come to Edinburgh to play with Brian. We wish him well and are delighted to announce that Brian has asked Nigel Clark to take his place in the Trio.
Brian says: “So shocked to hear about Dave Blenkhorn, but know he is on the mend and will be back in top form again very soon. Very pleased, however, to announce that my old sparring partner, the great Nigel Clark, will be filling the guitar chair, so you can expect some great swinging music from the Oscar Peterson/Count Basie/Fats Waller school”
The Oscar Peterson Trio with Herb Ellis is the key reference for a band featuring the mercurial swinging pianist, Brian Kellock: Australian guitarist, Dave Blenkhorn; and bass player, Roy Percy.
They play classy, sometimes tricky, always passionate swinging jazz with a facility beyond most, and an approach based on joy and fun.
