Nominated for BBC Young Musician of the Year in 2020, and releasing his critically-acclaimed album ‘Where Will The River Flow’ earlier this year, he is fast becoming one of the leading lights of the Scottish jazz scene.
With an impressive compositional maturity, Carmichael fuses jazz and folk elements giving his music a distinct Scottish identity. Performing new music, as well as material from the release, his quartet will be joined by 2017’s Young Traditional Musician of the Year, fiddler Charlie Stewart.
