She is the leading light of Rose Room and has been commissioned by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, National Theatre of Scotland.

Now, Seonaid Aitken has formed a new super group and for this EJBF commission records at Stockbridge Church, presenting new music fusing folk, jazz and classical.

Written during lockdown, and while recovering from serious injury, Seonaid’s musical suite ‘Chasing Sakura’ - for string quintet and saxophone/flute - follows the lifespan of the cherry blossom inspired by her time in Japan.
