We've got plenty for lovers of vocal jazz to enjoy at EJBF 21, with nine concerts spanning the early days of jazz to today.

Unable to travel in 2021, Davina and The Vagabonds have recorded a special concert for EJBF live from Minneapolis; Jacqui Dankworth joins her acclaimed American pianist and vocalist husband Charlie Wood to reinterpret some classic jazz duets; and Alison Burns has co-opted one of the world’s foremost acoustic guitarists, Martin Taylor to accompany her rich, smooth and velvety vocals.

Scottish songstress, Georgia Cécile brings a new suite of songs accompanied by a jazz trio and a string quartet; singer Ali Affleck delves in the prohibition era for some vintage New Orleans gems; and Luca Manning presents a world premiere performance featuring musicians handpicked by Luca including singer, Cherise Adams-Burnett, and Fergus McCreadie.

Vocal blues also feature as Bessie Smith’s extraordinary musical legacy is recreated by Katie Whittaker, and singer Charlotte Marshall delivers a melting pot of southern soul, Bayou funk and Memphis Blues.
