Luxembourg has been building a reputation as an exciting and dynamic centre for jazz where, through international influences and homegrown invention, players are forging their own creative paths. Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival were delighted to work with Kultur | lx – Arts Council Luxembourg to shine the spotlight on some of the brightest talents on today’s European scene. This weekend featured five concerts featuring collaborations between musicians from Scotland and Luxembourg, and concerts from leading bands from both countries.

Taking place from 24-26 March 2023, the weekend featured Tele-Port, Dock In Absolute, trumpeter Daniel Migliosi, bassist Marc Demuth and drummer Michel Meis from Luxembourg, appearing alongside eight Scottish bands. Based in the St Bride’s Centre in Edinburgh, the programme also extended to The Blue Lamp in Aberdeen and the Mackintosh Church in Glasgow in collaboration with Aberdeen Jazz Festival (Jazz Scotland) and Glasgow Jazz Festival.
