Scottish Blues Weekend

Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival presents Scottish Blues Weekend Online

Supporting Blues musicians across Scotland

For the first time ever, the Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival presents an online weekend Scottish blues extravaganza.

From established stars like Maggie Bell and Tim Elliott to new names like Jon McKenzie and Liz Jones, the weekend of 6th-10th February will see over 12 hours of blues as we reprise the live shows that took place at our Scottish Blues Weekend in February at St Bride’s Centre. The screening schedule is detailed below and please visit our social media sites to get additional content from the musicians and Festival.

The Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival supports Scottish blues musicians many of whose livelihoods have been put on hold recently due to the absence of live events. Throughout the weekend we will be highlighting ways you too can support either by donations to the individual artists or purchasing their music or merchandise.

The Weekend was been curated by three Edinburgh blues talents and aimed to showcase the best of the music happening right now in Scotland. Singer, Nicole Smit and guitarists Jed Potts and Sandy Tweeddale have their fingers on the pulse of what’s hot in Scottish blues and we are excited to premiere some brand new projects over the weekend. They say “The Scottish Blues Weekend shines the spotlight on Scottish Blues and offers a platform for new projects. It's great to be able to showcase such a diverse range of blues, as well as a host of bands led by women. We hope that you'll enjoy the weekend, and we especially hope that you'll see someone you might not have seen before."?

Musicians need your help

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many musician’s livelihoods have been put on hold due to the

suspension of live events.  We will be highlighting ways you can support either by donations to individual artists or purchasing their music or merchandise.

Please give generously, if you can.
