ZarifAtToul-AsSamer Palestinian Dabke Troupe

This Edinburgh based dance group present many traditional Palestinian dances. Dabke is a Levantine folk dance mainly seen in Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, and Jordan, combining circle dance and line dancing, and is widely performed at weddings and other joyous occasions.

Intercultural Youth Scotland

Young people from this Edinburgh Based youth association have been working with Siphosethu Gojo, dancer and choreographer from Cape Town, South Africa on a new dance performance. The choreography is a mix of African dance moves including the famous Amapiano style.

Latin Zumba

Onisis Villarroel de Reddie, takes the audience on a Latin Zumba work out, something for the whole family, time to learn some Latin moves and get the body moving.

Axe Boom Boom (Capoeira & drumming)

Axé Boom Boom showcases collaborative work with Drumming Hands and Capoeira Tucum Edinburgh, presenting a Capoeira and Djembe drumming show. Come and enjoy this beautiful and vibrant mix of Afro-Brazilian music and movement.

This Peruvian folkloric dance troupe have been dancing in Scotland for over five years. They present one dance that promote Latin America culture in Scotland.

Dance Ihayami

This Youth Dance Company present ‘A Happy Namaste‘ (‘greetings to you’) is a new choreographic piece set within the context of Edinburgh ‘Year of Stories’ which mixes traditional Indian dance with Scottish music creating a hybrid performance which celebrates Scotland’s multicultural identity.

International Collaboration

International Collaboration

Drummers from Brazil and the USA, dancers from Trinidad, South Africa, and Scotland work with a spoken word artist from Zambia to create a collaborative cross arts form carnival performance piece aligning with our 2022 carnival theme ‘The World in One City’.

Diversity in Dance

Dances form Cape Town, and Edinburgh have been working together in South Africa within the British Council’s ‘Co-Creation’ programme. Together they have choreographed a new performance that brings together disabled and non-disabled artists to celebrate through dance.
